PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that can collate an image picked up with an image registered in advance with high precision. SOLUTION: An optical system has a characteristic distortion X that remains extremely small within a range of small angles of viewθand sharply increases outside the range of angles of viewθ. The use of the optical system can project a large optical image of a subject in a telescopic range of the optical system to produce an image of high resolution, wherefore when the appearance of a visitor is detected, the iris of an eye of the visitor is captured in the telescopic range of the optical system.
