摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate wasteful energy consumption and to reduce temperature rise in a machine by avoiding unnecessary power supply in an image heating apparatus of electromagnetic induction heating system. SOLUTION: The image heating apparatus of electromagnetic induction heating system has: a magnetic flux generation means 10; and an inductive heating element 4 which performs electromagnetic induction heating by an action of the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic flux generation means. A recording medium P carrying an image is introduced into a heating part N and brought into contact with the inductive heating element directly or via a heat transfer material during transport, and the image on the recording medium is heated by the heat of the inductive heating element. The image heating apparatus has a magnetic flux adjustment means 8 for changing the density distribution of the working magnetic flux from the magnetic flux generation means to the inductive heating element with respect to the longitudinal direction of a heating part orthogonally crossing the transport direction of the recording medium in the heating part, and the magnetic flux adjustment means shifts its position on the basis of information about an image area on the recording medium.
