PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation device capable of improving the convenience of operation of the car navigation device during traveling or the like, considering also the safety while suppressing the cost. SOLUTION: This car navigation device comprises first and second stress sensors 6 and 7 disposed on the left part and right part of a steering wheel 1, respectively. When it is detected through the first and second stress sensors 6 and 7 that both hands of a driver are on the steering wheel is detected during the traveling of a vehicle, acceptance of an operation input is permitted, and when it is detected through the first and second stress sensors 6 and 7 that at least either one of the hands of the driver is not on the steering wheel 1, acceptance of at least a part of the operation input from an input acceptance part 3 is prohibited.
