PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a (meth)acrylic ester and a method which efficiently produces a (meth)acrylic ester while enabling a sealing liquid of a liquid-sealed vacuum pump and a useful component present in the sealing liquid to be recovered by a simple method. SOLUTION: The method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester comprises subjecting a liquid containing a (meth)acrylic ester represented by formula (1): (CH<SB>2</SB>=CR<SP>1</SP>COO)<SB>n</SB>R<SP>2</SP>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>is hydrogen or a methyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a specified alkyl group, an akylene group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an allyl group, a cycloalkyl group or an alkylaminoalkyl group; and n is 1 or 2) to vacuum distillation to obtain a purified (meth)acrylic ester. In the vacuum distillation, a liquid-sealed vacuum pump using a liquid containing at least an alcohol represented by formula (2): R<SP>2</SP>(OH)<SB>m</SB>(wherein R<SP>2</SP>is the same as defined above; and m is 1 or 2) as a sealing liquid is used as a vacuum system.
