PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for a vehicle such as an automobile furnished with an air cushion, etc. to improve riding comfortability by optimizing a vibration-proofing characteristic of the air cushion, in particular, a vibration damping characteristic in accordance with a seating state of an occupant, a vehicle travelling state, etc. SOLUTION: A rear part of a cushion pad 2 of a seat part, that is, a region 2a to support the buttocks of the occupant is placed and supported on a recessed part 3a of a plate type frame 3 through an air cushion 11. This air cushion 11 is made of two air bags 11-1, 11-2 vertically accumulated, and these air bags can be communicated to each other through a solenoid valve 15 and a piping 17. The vibration-proofing characteristic is improved and especially kinematic magnification is maintained low by controlling opening-closing and a contraction degree of the solenoid valve 15 in accordance with frequency which the seat 1 for the vehicle receives. Additionally, sliding-off of the occupant is prevented by actuating a solenoid valve 16 for emergency exhaust and contracting the air cushion 11 at the time of collision of the vehicle.
