PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for supplying a coating material capable of always obtaining stable coating finish, even in such a state that the fluctuation width of coating atmosphere condition and surface temperature of an object to be coated is large, in the coating of an aqueous coating material in an industrial coating line, or the like. SOLUTION: Two or more kinds of coating materials having substantially the same coating color and the same solid content after dilution but different in the evaporation speed of an aqueous medium used in dilution are continuously supplied while mixed in the ratio corresponding to the surface temperature of an object to be coated and the coating atmosphere condition. The coating material supplying apparatus is equipped with a line mixer for mixing two or more kinds of coating materials having substantially the same coating color and different in the evaporation speed of the dilution aqueous medium, an arithmetic device for calculating the proper mixing ratio corresponding to the surface temperature of the object to be coated and the coating atmosphere condition of two or more kinds of the coating materials having the same coating color and different in the evaporation speed of the dilution aqueous medium, and a controller for controlling the discharge amounts and discharge times of the quantitative supply pumps of the respective coating materials on the basis of the operation result.
