PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fermentation tank with excellent earthquake-proof property and less numbers of welding steps, and capable of being easily constructed. SOLUTION: In this fermentation tank, an organic waste and a compost raw material such as livestock excrement are thrown from above, these are stirred by a stirring impeller while mixing with air, and regarding the compost raw material, fermentation is carried out for several days. Couplings 2 at both ends of a steel sheet pile are combined to form a surrounding wall and a steel beam 4 is fixed to an upper end of the steel sheet pile while stretched around. A rotation shaft 5 turnable against the steel beam 4 and extending below is pivotally supported and stirring impellers 7 are arranged on the rotation shaft at several stages.
