<p>A production method capable of efficiently producing a display device of higher image quality; and a production device applicable to such production method. Positioning is effected such that a seal pattern (4) formed on at least one of the lower and upper substrates (2, 7) to extend along the outer edges of a plurality of display panels (1) coincides with a raised pattern (27, 29) formed on at least one of the pair of parallel surfaces (19S, 20S) in lower and upper platens (19, 20) and having a planar shape corresponding to the seal pattern (4), the lower and upper platens (19, 20) being used to press the lower and upper substrates (2, 7) in a Z-direction. Thus, a gap in an effective image surface region (3) between the lower and upper substrates (2, 7) can be made more uniform, making it possible to efficiently produce a display device of higher image quality.</p> |
