<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high refractive index layer with superior weather resistance, an anti-reflection film with superior weather resistance and inexpensively suppliable in a large amount, a polarizer applied with anti-reflection treatment by a proper means, and an image display device. <P>SOLUTION: This refractive index layer contains oxide fine particles of high refractive index and matrix. The fine particles are compound oxide particles containing titanium element and at least one kind of metal element selected from metal elements having a refractive index of its oxide of 1.95 or more, and the compound oxide is doped with at least one kind of metal ions selected from among Co ions, Zr ions and Al ions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
