<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmission body for a surface light source element, having high luminance and uniform luminance distribution in a light emitting surface without applying any uniformizing process such as a dot pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source element comprises at least one side surface as a light incident surface, and one surface approximately orthogonal to the light incident surface as a light emitting surface. A plurality of lens arrays having an inclined surface of an average inclination angle of 0.5-6°, arranged on at least one surface of the light emitting surface and its back surface, extending in a direction parallel with the light incident surface.
