PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire which suppresses the generation and development of the wear of a shoulder rib. SOLUTION: In the heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire having a rib pattern on a tread surface 10, the rib pattern being divided by main grooves 2 provided in the circumference of the tire, shoulder ribs 4 are formed on a round shoulder, and a narrow groove 5 having the depth of 85-100% of that of the main groove is provided on the round shoulder portion 8. The portion outside the narrow groove 5 in the width direction of the tire is a dummy rib 7, and a plurality of sipes 6 are arranged along the circumference of the tire in the inside portion in the width direction of the tire.
