PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for increasing a data storage capacity using a loading/unloading zone on a data recording medium. SOLUTION: A first reproducing/recording track 321 is arranged in a boundary between a loading/unloading zone 315 and the remaining part 316 of a data storage area. The boundary is defined as a part positioned at an intersection point between the loading/unloading zone 315 of a disk 115 and the remaining part 316 of the data storage area. Thus, as to the first reproducing/recording track 321, the radial inner slider part of a slider 129 is arranged on the remaining part 316 over the intersection point when data are reproduced or recorded in the track 321, and the radial outer side part of the slider 129 is arranged on the loading/unloading zone 315.
