PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens unit capable of attaining an optical zooming operation and a focusing operation, whose outside dimension can be narrowed in diameter, and which can be suitably incorporated in a mobile telephone etc., required to attain the reduction of thickness and the miniaturization. SOLUTION: A front lens group 2, a rear lens group 3, an imaging device 4 such as a CCD and an actuator 5 are arranged in this order in a cylindrical main body 1. As for the front lens group 2, the frame part 20 is fixed at the end part of the main body 1, as for the rear lens group 3, the frame part 30 is movably fitted into the main body 1. Two movable arms 6 and 6 extend backward from the frame part 30, and a plate part 65 is laid between both leading ends and integrally formed, and a lead nut 60 arranged at the center of the plate part 65 is linked with the lead screw 50 of the output shaft of the actuator 5. The lead nut 60 side is linearly operated with the rotary drive, then, the rear lens group 3 is moved in the optical axis direction. Members extending over the circumferential edges of the frame parts 20 and 30 are eliminated in the main body 1, then, the unit is made narrower in diameter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
