PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive endless belt provided with stable surface velocity and in which deviation does not occur when transferring and an image forming apparatus realizing a good image quality by using the belt. SOLUTION: A recording medium retained by electrostatic attraction is driven in circulation by a driving member and carried to 4 types of image forming bodies and each toner image is sequentially transferred to the recording medium by a tandem type conductive endless belt for transferring and carrying. The endless belt is provided with a laminated structure, in which at least 2 layers are laminated. When each laminated layer is the first layer, the second layer, the third layer, and so on from the innermost layer side in sequence, each layer satisfies the relationship indicated by the following formula (1):E<SB>1</SB>×T<SB>1</SB>>( E<SB>2</SB>×T<SB>2</SB>, E<SB>2</SB>×T<SB>3</SB>, and so on), (wherein E<SB>1</SB>, E<SB>2</SB>, E<SB>3</SB>and so on are respectively the elasticity of the first layer, the second layer, the third layer and so on and T<SB>1</SB>, T<SB>2</SB>, T<SB>3</SB>and so on are respectively the thickness of the first layer, the second layer, the third layer and so on).
