PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having a high flame retardant property without using a halogen and red phosphorus-based flame retardant, further excellent in the balance of electric insulation, heat shock resistance, casting workability and sedimentation stability. SOLUTION: This resin composition is provided by consisting of a bisphenol A type liquid state epoxy resin, a dimer acid-modified epoxy resin and a metal hydroxide of which surface is treated with a fatty acid as essential components, and having 40-300 phr blending amount of the metal hydroxide of which surface is treated with the fatty acid. Alternatively, the resin composition is provided by consisting of the bisphenol A type liquid state epoxy resin, the dimer acid-modified epoxy resin, the metal hydroxide of which surface is treated with the fatty acid and the metal hydroxide of which surface is not treated as essential components, and having 40-150 phr blending amount of the metal hydroxide of which surface is treated with the fatty acid and 175-300 phr total blending amount of the metal hydroxide of which surface is treated with the fatty acid and the metal hydroxide of which surface is not treated.
