PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine useful for prevention of peritoneal deterioration in peritoneal dialysis. SOLUTION: The peritoneal deterioration-preventing agent comprises an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor as an active ingredient. A method enabling healthy peritoneal dialysis over a long period comprises suppressing peritoneal deterioration and preventing failure for removal of a solute by administering the preventing agent.
