<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver for converting an optical signal into an electric signal and output the converted signal, which can suppress a harmful effect on the output signal due to a parasitic current generated between an photoelectric converting means such as a photodiode and an output. <P>SOLUTION: A malfunction detecting circuit 2 for monitoring an output signal from a slew rate variable output stage 1 is provided. Upon detecting a malfunction in the output signal, the circuit 2 performs control for reducing a slew rate of an output within a range in which a transmission speed in the output stage 1 is not reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
