<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To self-diagnose an air valve connected in parallel with a brake valve between an air tank and an air master cylinder without generating abnormal noise and unnecessary braking force. <P>SOLUTION: When the brake valve is operated by a brake pedal, pneumatic pressure according to an operation amount is supplied to the air master cylinder, hydraulic pressure according to the pneumatic pressure is supplied to a wheel cylinder and the braking force is applied to the wheel. When the accelerator pedal is stepped on and the wheel is slipped at starting a vehicle, the air valve is opened, the compressed air is supplied from the air tank to the master cylinder, and the braking force is applied to the wheel so as to suppress the slip. To self-diagnose whether the air valve operates normally or not, the operation check of the air valve is performed by driving the air valve only for a very short period of time when the compressed air does not substantially move from the air tank to the air master cylinder when the hydraulic pressure control unit is in non-operation state and it is the self-diagnosis time for the air valve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
