<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To subject a steel material to heating treatment with good accuracy, in the heating treatment of the steel material using a correcting apparatus and an induction heating apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The method for heating the steel material is provided with temperature dropping amount estimating processes (S1-S3) for estimating the temperature dropping amount of the steel material in the correcting apparatus based on information containing the temperature of the steel material and carrying speed of the steel material at the inlet side of the correcting apparatus, and electric power calculating processes (S4, S5) for calculating the electric power supplied into the induction heating apparatus for heating the steel material to a target temperature based on the estimated temperature dropping amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
