PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy having high resistance to metal corrosion for coating a device suffering the corrosion as a result of the encounter with liquid. SOLUTION: A device suffering the corrosion by the liquid, in particular a steam turbine part, is treated by laser beam plating using a cobalt base alloy containing 28 to 32 wt% chromium, 5 to 7 wt% tungsten, 0.1 to 2 wt% silicon, 1.2 to 1.7 wt% carbon, 0.5 to 3 wt% nickel, 0.01 to 1 wt% iron, 0.01 to 1 wt% manganese, 0.2 to 1 wt% molybdenum, 0 to 0.5 wt% possible impurities or other elements and the balance cobalt.
