PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway apparatus with excellent maintainability capable of always keeping a state of correct time. SOLUTION: When a remote server 2 makes a control request of an in-building apparatus 50, the remote server 2 transmits a control request message M10 to the gateway apparatus 1 via an out-building network 3, the control request message is given to an out-building communication control section 11 of an arithmetic processing section 10 via an in-building communication interface 17 inside the gateway apparatus 1 and the control section 11 allows a protocol conversion section 13 to convert the protocol of the control request message M10 from the out-building communication protocol into the in-building communication protocol. An in-building communication control section 13 transmits the control request message M10 whose protocol is converted into the in-building communication protocol to an in-building network 4 via an in-building communication interface 14 and the remote server 2 can control the in-building apparatus 50.
