摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect a continuous (analog-like), physical change in an object, using electrooptic effect. SOLUTION: A physical quantity detection sensor 1 uses electrooptic effect for detecting physical quantities related to an organism H from a detection result, by detecting the physical change of the organism H by utilizing a change in the intensity of laser beams, according to the electrooptic effect, and the physical quantity detection sensor 1 comprises a detection electrode 2 covered with an insulating film 3 that can the organism H can come into contact with; an EO crystal 5, that is facingly arranged at an interval at the detection electrode 2 on the light path of laser beams to generate the electrooptical effect; a space-retaining member 25, that is inserted between the detection electrode 2 and the electrooptical crystal 5, and retains the interval so that it can be reduced and expanded, while maintaining electrical insulated state between the detection electrode 2 and the EO crystal 5; and an application electrode 12, that is mounted to the electro-optical crystal 5 facing the detection electrode 2, while sandwiching the light path of laser beams.
