PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head which solves a problem of degradation in image quality even if pressure generating sections are formed high densely and to provide a printing method using the print head. SOLUTION: A substrate 1 of the print head has a plurality of pressurizing chambers 4 connected with ink channels for introducing ink to an ink ejection hole 3 for ejecting the ink, and an actuator 2 having the plurality of pressure generating sections 17 is arranged on a main surface of the substrate 1 such that the pressurizing chambers 4 abut on the pressure generating sections 17, respectively. Further a dummy cavity 6 which does not contribute to printing is formed on the periphery of each pressurizing chamber 4, and a piezoelectric layer 14b of the pressure generating section abutting on the dummy cavity 6 is polarized. It is preferred that the pressurizing camber 4 is almost the same in shape as the dummy cavity 6, and that an interval between the dummy cavity 6 and the pressurizing chamber 4 adjacent to the dummy cavity 6 is almost the same as an interval between the pressurizing chambers 4.
