PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon mechanism which can prevent leakage of information from a used ink ribbon without a deterioration in printing quality. SOLUTION: A physical means such as a cutter mechanism 50 makes the used ink ribbon 20 worked in a position to be wound by a winding ribbon roller 12, and a printing trace is destroyed. When the ink ribbon is worked in the position like this, tension is hardly changed in the winding of the ink ribbon 20, and the printing quality does not deteriorate.
