<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a surgical operation at any remote locations regardless of places by retaining a portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: In a surgical operation assisting system, there are a plurality of operating rooms where endoscope systems 1 are installed in a hospital, and each endoscope system 1 can be connected to a communication line 45 via a cable.
