PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode an AV signal outputted from a reproducing/outputting device at the side of AV signal receiving equipment connected by IEEE1394. SOLUTION: The AV signal reproduced by a reproduction section 10 is decoded by a decoding section 20, and is inputted to an MPEG2-TS encoder 31 and a DV encoder 32 for coding to MPEG2-TS stream and DV stream, respectively. The AV signal having a coding system selected by a selection section 40 in the AV signals coded by the encoders 31, 32 is outputted to the AV signal receiving equipment via an IEEE1394 interface 50.
