METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONFIGURABLE METAL REGISTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to modify IC layouts that is implemented at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the structure of the integrated circuit, a metal pattern solution is provided so that the output value of a register can be varied by the change of the metal or contact of the metal pattern solution. By arbitrarily changing either metal or contact, the change of the metal pattern solution to be connected to the register is caused and functions to change the output value of the register. The metal pattern solution is connected to a metal switching tower, which is then connected to the ground and a multiplexer (mux). The multiplexer is connected to a plurality of inputs and a proper output value of the register is selected and inputted using the selected input from the metal switching tower.
