摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device which can prevent optical leakage by restraining the formation of projection of a metal shading film in a shading region. SOLUTION: This solid state imaging device is provided with a light receiving region 2 which is arranged in an imaging region and in which a plurality of light receiving elements 4 are arranged, and the shading region 3 which shades regions excluding the light receiving region 2 in the imaging region without gaps. The shading region 3 is formed of multilayer metal shading films 21, 22, and shading area is divided with the respective layers 21, 22. The shading region 3 is formed so as to have a region in which the respective layers of the metal shading films 21, 22 are mutually overlapped. In the case of a CMOS image sensor, the shading region 3 shades a plurality of light receiving elements 4 which are arranged in a region except the light receiving region in the imaging region and output reference output of hint.
