PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquiring device for allowing a user side to select the geographical range of local information and to conveniently and quickly execute hierarchial retrieval which used to be difficult in acquiring the local information. SOLUTION: Geographical information is optimized and hierarchically configured according to the geographical conditions and the purpose of retrieval of a user so that the retrieval can be conveniently and quickly performed. This information acquiring device is provided with a means such as a button to enable the user to conveniently and quickly acquire his or her desired local information in the geographical range selected by the user himself or herself only by depressing the button.
