PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor and a method that can effectively make good use of signal processing capability while suppressing an increase in storage capacity of a data buffer. SOLUTION: The signal processor which inputs respective data of a plurality of channels L, R, LS, LR, C, and S as stream data, performs specified signal processing for the stream data, and outputs data after the specified signal processing by the channels has a data buffer which has storage capacity corresponding to the amount of data of one frame as a unit of the specified signal processing and the number of the plurality of channels and stores data of the respective channels after the specified signal processing. Simultaneously with operation for dispersing and storing signal processing results of data of, for example, the channel L in storage areas I<SB>1</SB>to I<SB>6</SB>of the data buffer for a current frame N, last signal processing results are read out of storage areas A<SB>1</SB>to A<SB>6</SB>of the data buffer and outputted.
