PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow sure position detection even when areas to which an ultrasonic wave reaches are overlapped each other. SOLUTION: In this position detector 10, identification IDs different each other are controlled to be transmitted in order, as to a plurality of ultrasonic units A, B in which the areas where an ultrasonic wave reaches are overlapped each other, and a position is detected using as a reference the ultrasonic unit (for example, the ultrasonic unit A transceiving the identification ID "04" in the last) transceiving the identification ID concerned in an individual in the last, out of the ultrasonic units A, B, as to the individual (individual of the identification ID "04") positioned in an overlapped area.
