PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of reducing a weight and a space of a cloth printer superior in stability. SOLUTION: This printer comprises a medium conveyance section C to which a cloth can be set, a fixed side structure body S supporting the medium conveyance section C, and a head 5 for printing on the cloth. When a power source of the printer is in an OFF state, the medium conveyance section C is positioned to be involved in a part having a length Ls of the fixed side structure body in the moving direction of the medium conveyance section C (a housing position). When the cloth is set to or removed from the medium conveyance section C, the medium conveyance section C is positioned so that a part of the medium conveyance section C is projected to one side from the part having the length Ls (a cloth setting/removing position). When the operation of printing on the cloth is performed, the medium conveyance section C is controlled to be moved from the position where the part is projected to the one side (the cloth setting/removing position) to a position where the part is projected to the other side (a printing previous position), and then the medium conveyance section C is returned again to the position where the part is projected to the one side (the cloth setting/removing position).
