PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super-magnetostriction type wideband ultrasonic wave generator with which a sound pressure of a fixed level can be generated over a wide band. SOLUTION: A super-magnetostriction type wideband ultrasonic wave generator 100 is provided with a super-magnetostriction element 10 that is a vibrator including super-magnetostriction characteristics, a magnetic field coil 11 for applying a variable magnetic field to the super-magnetostriction element 10, a pre-load leaf spring 13 for applying pre-load to the super-magnetostriction element 10, and a bias permanent magnet 12 for applying a bias magnetic field to the super-magnetostriction element 10.
