System for identifying a user in a computer network (1) in which an identifier and evaluation unit (3) produces identification numbers, assigns them to a determined first user-specific parameter and transfers the number to the user. The evaluation unit determines a user specific parameter when it receives a user identification number and then assigns the first user specific parameter to a second transferred user-specific parameter for identification purposes. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a computer program product and; (b) a data medium with stored data for transferring signal sequences over a network.
