A packaging container and a packaging material used therefor, the packaging container wherein at least a part thereof is formed of a film-like or a sheet-like packaging material, an unsealing line part for unsealing the packaging container to take out stored matter is provided at the sealed position of the packaging material, and the ratio B/A of the thickness B of the unsealing line part to the averaged thickness A of the packaging material is 10/100 to 75/100, whereby the container can be easily unsealed at the unsealing line part; the packaging material usable for manufacturing packaging containers of various shapes such as bag shape and box shape wherein a cut start part (breakthrough) for cutting the packaging material at the unsealing line part can be desirably formed at the center part or end part of the unsealing line part so that the packaging material can be easily cut at the unsealing line part.
