<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment-coated paper for printing that uses a water-based ink and a water-based pigment ink, has high strength of pigment layer enough to stand the offset printing and shows excellent resistance to bleeding and cockling and further high image resistance to water in the ink jet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment coated layer on the pigment coated paper has the pigment coated layer on at least one face of the substrate paper sheet and has a water absorbance of 1-17 g/m<SP>2</SP>in size degree according to the procedure prescribed in JIS P8140 except that the contact time of the pigment coated layer with water is separately set to 10 seconds. Then, the pigment-coated layer of the pigment-coated paper is coated with 0.02-5.0 g/m<SP>2</SP>of cationic resin by soaking to give the pigment coated paper for printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
