<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control system which brings a flexible shift to power savings and enables an efficient reduction in power consumption, by accurately learning a status of use in an environment around a printer by means of a learning system such as a neutral network. <P>SOLUTION: This printing control system, which brings a shift of the printer to a power-saving mode when printing processing is not carried out at least for a given length of time, is characterized as follows: data on the status of the use of the printer are retained; time for the shift to the power-saving mode suitable for the environment, wherein the printer is used, is learned from among several alternatives in accordance with the data on the status of the use of the printer; and the time for the shift to the optimum power-saving mode is selected in each status of the use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
