<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display driver and an electro-optical device capable of driving a display panel in which the data lines are wired as comb teeth corresponding to the direction of an image to be displayed. <P>SOLUTION: Comb-teeth-driving is realized for the display driver for driving the data lines. The display driver 30 comprises: a gradation bus 110 supplied with gradation data corresponding to the order of the arrangement of the data lines; 1st and 2nd bi-directional shift registers 140, 150 for deciding each shift orientation based on the 1st and 2nd shift orientation control signals and shifting 1st and 2nd shift-start signals based on 1st and 2nd shift locks; 1st and 2st data latches 160, 170 for latching the gradation data based on the shift outputs; and a data line driving circuit for driving the data lines based on the latch data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
