PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a howling suppression apparatus by which a data processing load in frequency analysis can be reduced. SOLUTION: The howling suppression apparatus is provided with a notch filter 109 for filtering a howling component, fast Fourier transform means 118-120 for performing frequency analyses with 512 data samples, peak frequency detecting means 121-123 for detecting peak frequencies of channels, an adding means 124 for adding a signals of a channel, a second sample fast Fourier transform means 125 for performing the frequency analysis of the added signal with a 4096 data samples, a peak frequency detecting means 126 for detecting a peak frequency of an output signal from the 4096 fast Fourier transform means 125, and a coefficient setting means 129 for setting a coefficient of the notch filter 109, so that the data processing load is reduced.
