PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera by which an object affected by a periodically flickering light source can be appropriately photographed. SOLUTION: When photographing the object affected by a fluorescent lamp that is flickered in a cycle of 1/100 sec, first of all, an optical image of the object is captured by an image sensor 16 for a time of an integer multiple of 1/100 sec. The exposure in main exposure is determined by a CPU 32 on the basis of the captured optical image. The optical image of the object is captured for a time of the integer multiple of the flickering cycle of the fluorescent lamp, thereby appropriately evaluating lightness for human eyes.
