PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing abrasion in a heavy-duty diesel engine and a lubricant composition. SOLUTION: The method for reducing abrasion in a heavy-duty diesel engine and the lubricant composition being disclosed, the above lubricant composition comprises a combination of a dispersed, an alkali metal borate hydrate in an amount effective for the abrasion resistance, a neutral sulfonate and a perbasic cleaner composition.
