PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a board-shape expanded polypropylene resin body for building a well-balanced box, light in weight but strong enough to experience no lateral swelling when piled up, and performing excellently when ruled for folding or when fused by heat for joining. SOLUTION: The board-shape expanded body for building the box has an overall density of 120-270 g/L and a surface layer density of 150-320 g/L in the depth of 1 mm from the surface (wherein the overall density of the board-shape expanded body is lower than the surface layer density). The board-shape expanded polypropylene resin body for building the box has a flextual modulus of 150-350 MPa and a compressive hardness of 0.3-1.2 MPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
