PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update map data by selecting the map data of a map division that a user plans to update from a map division having many departure times. SOLUTION: When no matched roads are detected by map matching between map data and a current position, departure information is read from the navigation apparatus for storing the departure information (S400). It is judged whether departure resulted since there are no roads matching the departure information (S420, S430). The departure information is totalled for each map division since there are no matched roads (S450). The map division having a number of departure times is presented, based on the totalled result (S640).
