PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow-discharge emission spectral analysis method and a glow-discharge emission spectrophotometer for reducing the time for stabilizing the emission intensity of low-mass elements, such as carbon in glow-discharge emission spectral analysis. SOLUTION: Glow-discharge emission spectral analysis is conducted, using the glow-discharge emission spectrophotometer comprising a load circuit, which generates a self-bias current by receiving a self-bias voltage induced between an anode tube and a sample to be analyzed, provided in a power-feeding device of a glow-discharge tube. Preparative discharge is conducted in advance, which applies a high-frequency voltage to between the anode tube and the sample to be analyzed so as to set a maximum high-frequency voltage to be at least -150V.
