PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent data error even when a situation occurs where a leakage magnetic field erases little by little data on an adjacent track by compensating the situation as a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device comprises a magnetic disk, a magnetic head, and a recording/reproducing circuit for performing a write or read processing for data for recording or reproducing the data on a track on the magnetic disk. In the magnetic disk device, the number of times of writing data on a certain track is detected, and when it is detected that the number of times of writing reached a prescribed number of times, data on an adjacent track to the certain track is once red out based upon the detection and the data is rewritten on the adjacent track. Further, when data is written, it is done by skipping a physical track for every track, and the skipped track is written after the half tracks of the whole tracks are written.
