PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the invasion of dust or the like from a gap between a housing and a rotary shutter of a magnetic disk cartridge. SOLUTION: A packing 13 as a dust preventing part is provided on each of the internal surfaces of opening edge parts 3d, 4d of the housing (upper and lower shell halves 3, 4) of the magnetic disk cartridge 1. Further, by bending the opening edge end parts 3e, 4e of the upper and lower shell halves 3, 4 of the housing toward the inside (toward a magnetic disk 5), the bent part 3e, 4e also function as the dust preventing part. Further, the interference of an end part 7e of the rotary shutter 7 and the bent parts 3e, 4e is prevented by bending the end part 7e of the rotary shutter 7e toward the inside (toward the magnetic disk 5).
