摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly magnetic developer carrier which is easily manufactured at low cost by clarifying a damping factor of magnetic flux density and featured values for contributing to higher definition which can not be covered by specification of half-value width in the developer carrier to be used for SLIC development. SOLUTION: In the developer carrier 41 which is constituted of a development sleeve which carries and feeds developer and a magnet roll arranged in the development sleeve and having a plurality of magnetic poles P1 to P5, realizes a narrow development nip by narrowing width of a development pole P1 for forming a magnetic brush by napping the developer in a development region facing a latent image carrier 1 and reducing a napping area of the developer in the development region and of which the damping factor of the magnetic flux density of the development pole P1 is≥40%, change rate of the magnetic flux density of a part whose half-value width of the magnetic flux density of the development pole P1 is≤22°and the magnetic flux density of at least a half of the downstream side of the developer feeding direction from a peak magnetism position of the development pole is≤90% in the circumference direction is≥4.0mT/Deg.
