PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magazine waste paper-compounded ground wood paper which is bulky, little contains impurities, and has high whiteness, high opacity, good printing suitability and good fading resistance. SOLUTION: This magazine waste paper-compounded ground wood paper is characterized by making paper from a paper raw material comprising mechanical pulp in an amount of 20 to 50% based on total pulp components, magazine waste paper-containing waste paper pulp in an amount of 50 to 80%, and a paper bulking agent in an amount of 1 to 15 kg/t based on the pulp, drying the made paper, and then flattening the dried paper to give a Rp value of≤10μm measured with a micro topograph at a set pressure of 25 kgf/cm<SP>2</SP>after 10 msec after the start of the pressurization as the smoothness degree of the paper surface.
