PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel which can reduce the looseness of an engaging member to prevent the production of abnormal noises on the reciprocating movement guide of a slider and can thereby perform the good reciprocating movement guide. SOLUTION: This spinning reel equipped with a reciprocating movement device for engaging the engaging member 14 held in the slider 12 with a reciprocating spiral groove 11a formed on the outer periphery of a rotation shaft 11 rotated associated with a handle 2 to convert the rotation movement of the handle 2 into a linear reciprocating movement is characterized by holding the engaging member 14 in the slider 12 through an elastic member 16.
