PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rust-preventive performance and corrosion resistance properties of an aluminum part of a tension adjusting device for a belt. SOLUTION: A bracket 7 swingably attached to a fulcrum bolt 2, a pulley supporting shaft 3 for rotatably supporting a tension pulley 4 via a rolling bearing 8 and a cylinder 5a of an automatic tensioner 5 are integrally formed with aluminum and chemical conversion coating treatment is performed to form a nonconducting film on its surface. Thus, rust-preventive performance of the respective integrally formed members is improved and electroerosion at a contacting face of the pulley supporting shaft 3 and a steel inner ring 8a of the rolling bearing 8 can be prevented.
